Forget Moroni's Promise, Put Hinckley's Promise To The Test!!

Here is a quote from Gordon B. Hinckley's "loyalty" talk in the April 2003 conference:

"Each of us has to face the matter—either the Church is true, or it is a fraud. There is no middle ground. It is the Church and kingdom of God, or it is nothing."

Hinckley has said this on numerous occasions in interviews, etc, but here is one time where he actually said it in General Conference which makes it "official doctrine", right? So basically, everything is true, EVERYTHING, or EVERYTHING is false!! He makes it ALL OR NOTHING which is a very dangerous thing to do!! This should make someone's decision to leave the church much easier when they have questions and don't agree with something that the church does or says. Like Hinckley says, "the Church is true, or it is a fraud. There is no middle ground. It is the Church and kingdom of God, or it is nothing."

So, with that being said, if the Church is indeed true, it means that Joseph Smith marrying a 14 year old, promising her family ETERNAL LIFE in return, was from God and true? Marrying other men's wives and other men's already "pregnant wives"(pregnant by their "real husband"), was from God and true? Sending men on missions and marrying their wives while they were gone was from God? Marrying sisters(his adopted daughters..incest?) and a Mother and daughter pair was from God? Joseph Smith trying to sell the copyright of the BOM was inspired of God? Praying in 1823 to find out if there was a divine being that existed after having had "The First Vision" in 1820 was from God?

EVERYTHING WAS FROM GOD? Well, according to the Mormon Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley, YES..it was ALL FROM GOD & inspired!!

Brigham Young saying that Blacks should be executed on the spot if they mix with the white race was true or from God? Brigham Young teaching that you had to get your head cut off & also your children if you mixed your seed with the seed of Cain/blacks was also inspired? Buying 48 or some large amount of Mark Hoffman forgeries was from God? Oh yeah, and that was without ever receiving any revelation or warning from God or even the slightest inkling of a feeling, at any point, that he was a murderer and forger and about to kill people?!!

These are true Prophets, inspired of God?!

How about the Seventy, Lee, who was a child molester for years, right under their noses, as he talked at General Conferences, stake conferences, wrote for the Ensign and fulfilled his calling as a Seventy? Some of his talks & articles are still posted on LDS.org or on BYU broadcasting..that's inspired?! That was from God too? They had no clue yet they are "special witnesses" of Jesus Christ?

How about all of the cases of child molestation that go on in the scouts, Sunday school, Bishops, etc, without them ever knowing? Is that also inspiration from God? Receiving revelations from God on trivial matters such as how many earrings a woman wears, canceling missionary homecomings and farewell's or spending BILLIONS on a mall for Jesus, trumps knowing whether child molestations, rape or abuse is happening anywhere in the Church?

That's men directly inspired by God?!!

Why not warn the world about something worthwhile, that can save lives, like earthquakes, terrorism or Tsunami's that are about to strike and kill hundreds of thousands of Men, women and children? These are divinely inspired men of God? REALLY?!! Blacks not having the Priesthood until 1978 because they were cursed as the "seed of Cain" with "flat noses & black skin" and "not worthy" in the Pre-existence, was from God?!

The "better off dead chaste than alive unchaste" teaching is from God? The statement that "there is no true Latter-Day Saint that wouldn't rather bury a son or daughter than to have him or her lose his or her chastity" is from God?!!

It is better for a woman to die fighting in cases of rape or incest than to live having lost her virtue without a struggle to the death is from God? Former Mormon Prophet Spencer W. Kimball thought so & taught that doctrine, which was inspired & true, right?!

I guess the people living on the moon and the sun are also real & true? I guess Brigham Young's Adam is our Heavenly Father..the Adam-God theory, is true? That God, was once like man, living on an earth teaching, is true? Now Hinckley denies both being true!! Either they are true or not, right?!! What's up Hinckley?! These things couldn't have once been true and now they are suddenly false if they were inspired teachings of God! No middle ground, remember?!!

I could go on and on and on but hey, according to Hinckley, either it's all true or it isn't!! These are all things right out of official Church history and teachings & easily proven!! You can't hide them and pretend that they aren't there. I remember hearing a quote from Hinckley in a talk were he said that, "he treasured every bit of history in the Church and that once again, it was either all inspired of God or completely false." They can't have exceptions according to Hinckley, "no middle ground."

Basically, according to Hinckley, if you find ONE THING, JUST ONE, about the Church, that isn't inspired or from God, the Church is false and a complete fraud! It really simplifies the entire process now doesn't it?!!

Just based on Hinckley's interviews and responses, we can know that the Mormon Church is indeed a complete fraud. They are not allowed to only pick out the good things and say, "see, look how true it is" while discarding all the bad stuff. Do they allow members to do that with their personal lives? No middle ground!!

You can't just quote what "Brigham Young" said when it's convenient and it matches what you are currently saying while just throwing out everything else the nut job said. He taught the Adam-God doctrine, as the Prophet of God for what, 25 or so years? Inspired of God? Apparently it was then but now it isn't.

So, like I said, it should make things a lot easier for a lot of people when they apply Hinckley's very simple formula that either everything is wonderful and inspired of God or it isn't. I say not a chance in hell that it's all inspired!!

If it is..I certainly don't want to know or live with that jacked up Mormon God who believes in child brides, child molestation & rape in his name(through his perverted & criminal prophets), lying, covering up truth, committing adultery,  teaching racism, sexism, homophobia, commanding polygamy & polyandry, giving earring revelations to his Prophet over saving lives, while spending BILLIONS on building shopping malls & construction projects over feeding the poor & giving shelter to the homeless, etc, etc.

Suddenly everything is very clear and it's just not that hard to figure things out Mr. Hinckley when you put it that way..THANKS!!

what happened with your "daily" blog? Did you run out of ideas?

If you stopped, it must not be true!

Can your remarks be any more inflammatory, Mr. Samuel? In using these flattering words, you flatter yourself mostly. Let's imagine for a second that you're wrong... It's well documented that alot of the information that you quote are from falsified sources, which I'm sure you can't even name at this point because it's a bunch of false information that's been passed down generation to generation by enemies of the church. The main question I have for publishers of such information such as yourself is how can you believe such lies?

I beleive a lot of what you're trying to pass off as church doctrine may have been a previous attempt by a church leader to explain something scientifically, which, incidentally, does not make it church doctrine, because it either was not a religious commentary or was a personal opinion that was taken to be church doctrine by someone that heard it second hand. Or in some cases, the information you quote was a personal attack by early enemies of the church misquoted purposely in the wrong context, with the intent to mislead or was just a complete fabrication by those trying to discredit the church.

Religion is in essence a moral law. God's law. God tells us to be honest, and to be honest, sometimes you have to research the facts and not just take it for granted that everything you hear is true. Even if church leaders from time to time say things that are stupid, as most humans do, that doesn't change the moral law or God's Spirit that confirms it to us. I would say that almost all, if not all church leaders I have had the pleasure of hearing speak are both well-spoken and well-informed, and that if you researched the facts of what they're saying, then you wouldn't find the same vile intent that permeates your literature.

Alma 24: 30
30 And thus we can plainly discern, that after a people have been once enlightened by the Spirit of God, and have had great knowledge of things pertaining to righteousness, and then have fallen away into sin and transgression, they become more hardened, and thus their state becomes worse than though they had never known these things.

"It's well documented that alot of the information that you quote are from falsified sources"

I'm LDS and I know the talk that is being quoted here so at least "THIS" source material is from a valid source.. Hinckley did say this many times in interviews about the church, There is no middle ground.. Either the Church is True, or is is False.. It's crazy for me to say this being a Temple holder but I'm starting to lean toward to false myself.. I've been a faithful member for 37 years, Mission, Elder's Quorum President, Many, Many, Many church callings... And I've been there defending the church on all occasions. I borrowed my Parents "History of the Church" Volume's to bring on long trips away from home and I had no idea a lot of what actually happened because the "Church" cleans up all they teach you. Joseph didn't use the plate's at all to translate? This from the mouth of Emma.. I was sure he had the plate's in front of him using the Urim and Thummim to read and translate, there are many paintings the church uses to show this... reading about how he translated the book of mormon from valid sources (his Wife) this NEVER happened.. why were we told lies? Little things like this has shaken my belief in this Church.. lies upon lies and hidden truths about the history of the early church... The history the church teaches is Very Glamourized and not what I've been reading in the "History of the Church" at all.. Did you know that Joseph Smith was a Free Mason of the highest degree??? and most of the early mormon leaders were as well... I didn't until reading the "History of the Church" It's really opened my eyes to the simple truths I never knew... you are never told that Joseph Smith was a poligamist.. you knew Brigham Young was.. but that he had too because a lot of the men died on the way to Salt Lake... ok, now that's a nice excuse I use to keep in the back of my mind and believe... anyways done with my rambling... I guess my point was that I took Pres Hinckley's advice and started to look read and study more about the church and i'm not liking what I'm finding... I've opened my eyes by reading "Church Publish Material" and by all accounts I feel that the middle ground is where I'm at... and there is no middle ground...

Sad - pathetically sad. Reminds of all the time Jesus spent encouraging his followers to rip down other religions and to attack and lie about other people's beliefs. Whoa...wait, he didn't do that...he just taught the truth and was persecuted for it by people like you.
